After leaving college Barbara Ash had a studio at Spike Island for many years before escaping to develop an exciting practice for 10 years in Bangalore, working on projects and shows around India. She is now based on a boat by the Bristol Channel looking out for cormorants, her favourite birds, while she creates her sculptures, paintings, and prints. Barbara graduated with a Master's degree at the Royal College of Art in Sculpture and in tandem with her art practice she has been a freelance educator for around 20 years. Barbara is a part-time tutor at Bristol School of Art and
started teaching at Bristol Folk House in 2019 delivering Creative wire sculpture and Mixed media sculpture workshops.
